Today’s post is all about the much hyped  Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation . I brought the healthy mix foundation after reading loads of reviews on this product,  there was not even one bad review, so I decided to get it.

Now you’ll find it funny  but I have three shades 51 Light Vanilla , 52 Vanilla and 53 Light Beige . I’m actually shade 52 Vanilla .  In summer when I get tanned I use the darkest shade 53 & in winter I’m lightest  . Is it some kind of magic !!

My Experience : This product is a god sent !
I find that Healthy Mix has a medium coverage which is quite ideal for those who has very little blemishes to cover and just want to even out skintone. This covers my imperfections well, but that’s because I don’t have hyperpigmentation and my scars fade off as well. I found that the formula was quite thin .It’s not mattifying, not completely dewy, but lies somewhere in between as far as finish goes. It looks very natural on skin. Great news – It hasn’t broken me out . yayyyy !!!

It suits sensitive skin , works well on dry & combination skin . But if you have very oily skin make sure you blot with a tissue paper or oil blotting skin 10 mins after applying it .
I personally prefer using foundation brush which blends it in beautifully and evenly . You can use wet makeup sponge or even your fingers . The packaging of the bottle is great as the bottom of the bottle moves up as you use it this makes it a lot easier to know when you are about to run out. This foundation blends very easily, looks like second-skin, and never sunk into my pores or dry patches. It didn’t dry my skin out further and lasted all day. 12 hours later my makeup still looks great. It didn’t irritate my skin either. It last quite well , on my oily skin – as I mentioned it lasts for good 12 hrs of wear without greasing up, also it’s moisturising .

My favorite liquid foundation! Its affordable and so completly worth it. Thank you Bourjois!! :*

Product review : Bourjois Healthy Balance Unifying Powder

My Thoughts ? I’m not a powder lover simply because I feel to over done with it on and  my skin tends to shout “Hey, I have makeup !” when I use a pressed powder. Still I’ve tried a lot of different brands and this is the best so far considering the price/value ratio. THe color I selected was #52 vanilla which is a perfect match for me.

The coverage is medium to full. I love the fact that it mattifies my oily t-zone nicely, soaks up oil in that area and keeps my makeup fresh for the entire day. It’s not cakey at all like most of the powders. It simply balances my skin out and fades evenly.

Also it does not have that terribly heavy bourjois smell that I don’t like. This powder is a great value basic, which offers anti-shine properties and yet doesn’t dry out the skin.

I apply this on top of my Maybelline BB cream and it does give my face a flawless effect. This Balance Unifying Powder perfected skin, set makeup, and overall, gave a nice smooth, flawless finish to my skin

Pros:

+ good match for my skin tone

+ Sets makeup beautifully and absorbs excess oil

+ Nice smooth, silky texture

+ Does not feel heavy, cakey or dull

+ Does not contain fragrance

Cons :

- No SPF

- It has a mirror and no puff?! It would be definately more covinient to have at least little space to put your puff.

Foundation selection is a difficult task, especially for Indian skin tones and skin types. Here we have listed some of the best foundations for humid climate that also suit Indian skin tones… :)

 1. Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation : It suits sensitive skin , works well on dry & combination skin . But if you have very oily skin make sure you blot with a tissue paper or oil blotting skin 10 mins after applying it. Last really long  8/10 hrs.

2. Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation : My face gets super oily with most foundations and even with no makeup, but this seems to keep it under control. Also it covers very well without looking like a lot of makeup. Its the best for humid climate. I use the revlon colorstay pressed powder to set it. It lasts all day for me.

3. Maxfactor Miracle Touch Foundation : It is designed to be a foundation but I actually use it mainly as a concealer over my usual foundation – though I have also used it as a foundation on occasion. The foundation itself is very light and creamy. Last for 6-7 hours !

4. MAC Pro Longwear Foundation : A comfortable, lightweight and creamy, applies and blends easily. Controls oil. Specially treated micronized pigments help give a smoother and natural finish with stay-true colour. This is a long-wearing foundation that gives up to 10-12 hours of wear .

5. Lakme Absolute White Intense Skin Cover : Its weightless formulation hides pores, fine lines and uneven skin tone to leave skin peachy soft all thorough the day . Must say, I am IMPRESSED with this foundation . It easily blends in the skin & evens out my skin tone like magic  . Lasts 9-10 hours !

Benefits : Long wearing, Great finish, Perfect for dry skin.
Sadly this one is discontinued now. They have launched a similar product which I haven’t used.

Clinique Super Balanced Makeup -

Liquid foundation with oil-free coverage that is silky upon application. Also gives your skin its daily dose of hydration. It has a dewy finish but is super lightweight.
Coverage: Moderate
Benefits: Balances combination skin, Long wearing, Good for Sensitive Skin, easy to blend.

L’Oreal True Match Foundation -

A little moisturiser is all you need beneath this winter perfect foundation. It doesn’t oxidize on my skin and gives a natural Finish that isn’t too matte.

Hello my love bugs ! Finally back with a CC cream post yay yay yay!!! Today I wanted to share this pretty looking tube with you! I was searching for a good foundation for my birthday when I came across Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream

Product Description : Correct and perfect your complexion with Bourjois’ 123 Perfect Colour Correcting cream. Its 3 colour correcting pigments give a fresh and luminous result with SPF 15 and 24hr hydration. Apricot for anti-fatigue // Green for anti-redness // White for anti-dark spots // Oil-free formula.

How To Use ? Apply Bourjois’ 123 Perfect Colour Correcting cream onto the centre of your face and blend outwards towards the jawline. You can use stippling brush for more coverage or a normal foundation brush. Avoid using sponge.

What Is CC Cream ? CC cream is a color corrector and will be lighter on the skin than foundation and BB cream. CC cream is meant to correct problems like redness or dullness.

My Thoughts ?

I was so confused between foundation and CC cream and since I don’t like layering my makeup during summer I thought I should just go with one product. That’s how I met this 123 Perfect CC cream. 

First of all kudos to Bourjois for launching all the four shades in India . I always get two shades of any foundation one for summer and one for winter. For reference, I’m NC 30 with yellow undertones and oily/combination skin, I also have bit of acne on forehead and uneven skin texture. I picked up Shade #33 which is a good match for my tanned skin. The SA suggested to get #32 which also looks perfect on me and I’m surely getting that post summer.

Lets have a look at the company claims -
Bourjois Say … Its 3 colour correcting pigments give a fresh and luminous result with SPF 15 and 24hr hydration.
I Say … It neutralise redness and brightens up dull skin. The formula makes my skin happy and I love the radiant glow it gives. It looks extremely natural on my skin and looks like I’m wearing no makeup.

Now on to the texture and coverage of Bourjois 123 Perfect CC cream – a light almost watery texture that doesn’t suggest that it will offer great coverage but boy it does. The texture of this wasn’t what I was expecting. It is quite runny and not like a cream at all, more a lotion. Officially it is noted that this is very light coverage CC cream but in my opinion it is closer to being a medium coverage without being heavy on the skin. This is one of the few CC creams in the beauty market that I really offers to correct your complexion.

FOTD – As you can see below even after 4 hours the CC cream looks fresh on my skin. I’ve used MAC select cover up to cover dark circles and blemishes.

I apply it with my stippling brush and dust my Clinique translucent powder to set it into place, generally just my t-zone. In terms of wear this lasts on my oily skin a good 9 hours with a primer and slightly less (around 8 hours) when used directly on skin.  A good primer underneath is necessary during summer.

So far it hasn’t caused any breakouts. Those with sensitive and acne prone skin don’t have to worry. I also think it will make a perfect base for foundation it you’re looking for more coverage. When my skin is behaving I use it on it’s own.  When it’s blemished I use it as a base under my doublewear or whatever foundation I’m in the mood for. 

Summary -

• Shade : 31 or 32 perfect for Pale and Fair skin tones, 32 or 33 will suit fair to olive Skin tones and 34 for dark complexion beauties.
• Texture : Its lightweight texture easily glides onto your skin for a smooth application.
• Fragrance : Mild
• Skin Benefits : Hydration, neutralises redness, brightens skin and corrects complexion.
• Coverage : Light to Medium
• Lasting Power : 8 to 9 hours
• Result / Finish : semi dewy and natural

BnB Tips : If you have dark circles - apply it around your eyes before using concealer.

Final Verdict : This is my current Favourite CC cream. I love this for a light, natural makeup and a quick application. It really does neutralise redness and is a keeper, especially if you suffer from skin dullness. The coverage is sheer, but if you need more coverage, you can layer this either under or over another base. LOVE it !

BOURJOIS CLUBBING EYELINER IN BRONZE DANCE FLOOR

This is definitely the strangest name for an eyeliner. For starters, the eyeliner isn’t exactly bronze in colour and why, bronze dance floor?? I mean if a dance floor was bronze it would look pretty weird, right?

I have had this eyeliner with me for quite a while now. It was one of those things that I bought during a Lifestyle sale. There was a point where I would go pretty crazy buying makeup in Lifestyle sales, I like to think I have grown beyond that now. I actually bought a mascara also from Bourjois and some lip pencils.

The packaging is pretty snazzy. I really don’t remember how many colours are in this range, but I do remember that the packaging is the same colour as the liner. When I swatched this at the counter, I loved how metallic

It has an olive green tone, but since it is metallic it can look bronzish under certain lights. The tip of the brush is thin and you can draw a really beautiful winged liner look with this. I love how I can control the brush very well. It is designed to be used easily. The length of the brush is also perfect for the liquid liner. The actual product isn’t too wet and it dries quickly.

The one biggest problem would be the fact it isn’t waterproof. It gets easily rubbed off with water. It does come off if you rub your eye. However it doesn’t smudge. If you are a person who rubs her eyes a lot then you will have a problem with its staying power because it comes off the inner corner and if you have done a winged eyeliner, then even the tip of the wing will easily disappear. However on the lid, it lasts all day and doesn’t fade. Like I said before, don’t rub your eye and this eye liner will not disappoint you.

What I like about this product ?

• The color and finish.
• The fact that if you don’t touch your eyes, the liner doesn’t budge or flake.
• Dries quickly.
• The packaging.
• I love the brush. Works beautifully for me.
• Can be easily removed.

What I don’t like about this product ?

• I wish it was waterproof and didn’t come off when I rubbed my eye.
• The price is a bit a high for an eyeliner.

Will I buy it again?

Not for now. I have a ton of eye liners that I have to finish before I can buy any more

Bourjois Levres Contour High Definition Lip Liner Brun Auburn

But I love writing and connecting with people with same interests. I joined this site because of my never ending love for makeup/beauty. Okay so coming back to the review now.

Lately, I have recently realized the importance of lip liners and since then I have been gathering different shades. Today I will review my recent purchase from Bourjois for all you. Read on to know how it fared. 

Price: Rs 425 for 1.14 gms

My Experience :

Bourjois Levres Contour High Definition Lip Line comes in color-coded wooden pencil which can be sharpened easily and thus it’s hygienic to use. All the pencils are color-coded with the same shade so even if you have more than one of these you can identify them easily. Product is wasted while sharpening but I prefer them over retractable one because of hygiene issue. The tip is secured with a well fitted cap.

Brun Auburn is a very pretty orangey-red shade which goes really well along with my red and orange lippies. Since the color is really attractive I also wear it alone and then top it using clear gloss. The shade is apt for winters.

The texture is smooth but not buttery smooth. If applied without lip balm it can accentuate dry patches so I never use it without lip balm beneath. With lip balm, it glides smoothly without any drying effect. The color payoff is really good and it covers pigmented lips in single swipe. You can build the shade accordingly.

It stays for around 5 hours on me with slight meals in between. It doesn’t smudge or smear; I feel it’s tattooed on my lips. It also makes lipstick last longer than they normally do and even if the lipstick fades you can see this lip-liner as a tint. It prevents lipstick from bleeding and also enhances the pout. So, for me it serves as a good lip-liner. I have tried many lip-liners and this one is amongst the most used.

Pros:

• Beautiful rusted orange shade
• The packaging is convenient and hygienic
• Defines lips perfectly
• Great color payoff and cover pigmentation easily
• Matte finish
• Long lasting
• Can be worn alone with lip balm beneath
• Resist bleeding of lipstick
• Increases longevity of lipsticks

Cons:

• The texture is a bit drying so make sure you apply lip balm beneath
• Pricey

Overall thoughts: I am in love with “Bourjois Levres Contour High Definition Lip Liner Brun Auburn” it’s worth every penny and full paisa vasool. The shade is orangey-red which will go will all warmer toned lippies and the staying power is amazing too. The texture is a bit drying but nothing that a lip balm can’t handle. I would recommend these.

Bourjois Paris Intense Extrait Eyeshadow 09 Review, Swatches & EOTD

Today I am going to review the most important thing in my eye makeup kit. It is a taupe brown eyeshadow from Bourjois Paris. This brand is really hard to get, be it online or retail stores. Thankfully, I have one store in my city but more than half the products are either unavailable or out of stock. This particular eyeshadow color is something I can’t live without as it has various purposes.

Read on to know why I fell in love with this one.

PRICE – 575 INR for 1 g

MY REVIEW 

Packgaing – The product comes in a round case packaging with an inbuilt mirror fixed inside it. There is no applicator or anything given. The packaging is looks quite petite, sturdy and suitable for travel purposes. However, as a single eyeshadow I strongly opine that the packaging should have been more specific with a better mirror and an applicator brush. Overall, I didn’t find the packaging very appealing.

Shade – The shade of the eyeshadow is something I have been hunting a long time. It is taupe brown color with greyish undertones. It has no shimmers or any frosty touch to it. The color closely resembles M.A.C. Embark but undertone is different. The eyeshadow has can be used as a color all over the eyelid, using light hand as a crease shade or even as eye brow color. The versatility of the color is better seen when it is used dry and wet for various purpose. This shade, I would say, is a must have because Indian skin tones for eyeshadow needs a matte brown color for smoky eyes, transition color, eye brow filler, etc.

Texture & formula – The texture and finish of the eyeshadow is also good. It is a baked eyeshadow with a satin soft texture. It works wonderfully when used either wet or dry. Even if you use the color in dry form the fallout issue is not at all there. I find the blending of the eyeshadow very easy in dry form than wet. If the brush is not properly damped then the application can be a bit patchy. The blending and smoothening of the color is better done when dry.

Pigmentation –The pigmentation of the eyeshadow is very good which is why I always prefer coming back to this. When dry, the pigmentation is average and quite buildable to a large extent. However, when the color is applied wet, the pigmentation rich and intense. If you pick up proper amount, two layers are enough to have a proper color.

Staying power – The staying power is good. With primer underneath, the eyeshadow survives all day even in summers. Without primer, the color stays around for 6-7hours and fades off slowly. The creasing is there but somehow it doesn’t look very ghastly at all.

OVERALL – for the price the color is really good for multipurpose use. The color is something a rare in the Indian market as a mono eyeshadow and works really well for its quality.

 

WHAT I LIKED  

1. Petite and sturdy packaging.
2. Beautiful matte taupe brown color with greyish undertones.
3. Multipurpose use and works very well with Indian skin tones.
4. Can be wet both wet and dry.
5. No fallouts.
6. Smooth silky texture with matte finish.
7. Pigmentation is good especially when it’s applied wet.
8. Staying power is 6-7hours without primer.
9. It is hypoallergenic, paraben- and fragrance-free and suitable for contact lens wearers.

WHAT I DISLIKED  

1. Packaging could have been more convenient.
2. Slightly patchy application while dry
3. Availability

RECOMMENDATION – the color has its own beauty and can be used daily for smoky eye or any soft taupe neutral look. It is such a matte taupe brown which we need in most eye makeups and I high recommend this particular shade from this range.
